We do this through detailed evaluation of the competency of prospective resources, through effective communication with our clients, and a steadfast resolve to remain a cost-effective resource alternative for our facilities.

Pat Crosby, LVN, started Crosby Nursing in 2006 with the singular belief that to know and understand the needs of our facilities, she would work personally in each facility so her staff would remained informed and best suited to meet the changing needs of each facility.

This belief carries into the day-to-day operation of Crosby Nursing.  Our 24/7 staffing managers are all licensed and practicing nurses enabling us to understand the situational needs of each resource request.  A licensed nurse is available 24/7 as a clinical resource for our staff.

John Chasse, LVN, is the Director of Nursing for Crosby, dedicated to thoroughly screening all applicants and making on-demand placements for our facilities around the clock.  John also manages our training and orientation process continually updating our materials to ensure our resources are up to date with current regulations, trends, and procedures.

We offer our resources to facilities many times at lower hourly rates than competing firms.  We don't do this by underpaying our staff.  Our hourly pay rates to contractors, in most instances, exceed those of competing firms.  This approach allows us to attract and maintain very high quality resources who actually enjoy working with us.

We run a tight ship with limited management overhead and streamlining of processes whenever possible.  We put our money into our resources rather than a large marketing or promotional budget.  We believe that our resources speak volumes regarding our quality, effectiveness, and commitment to our clients.

We maintain the best quality resources through in-service training, quarterly performance evaluations, and opportunities for professional enrichment.

Prior to being offered a position, applicants are thoroughly screened by a licensed nurse - not a recruiter - to ensure technical and license specific competence.

Once the applicant has completed our detailed competency evaluation - their answers are reviewed with a nurse, one by one.  This process provides an excellent opportunity to explain to the applicant why the specific questions were asked and how they relate to their intended position.

Once the competency has been established, we then determine the applicant's eligibility to join our team - this includes license and school verification, all applicable Homeland Security and IRS forms, and a drug screen and background check.  The background check includes county, state, and federal criminal records, sex offender database clearance, and a medical/healthcare specific database screening for reported patient abuse or neglect.

We don't solely depend upon the nursing boards to verify if a candidate should be cleared for employment.

We are currently preparing to become a Health Care Staffing Services firm certified by The Joint Commission.
